Hull KR came from behind to defeat a young Hull FC side 34-26 in the Clive Sullivan Trophy match at the KCOM Stadium.

A brace from Jake Connor wasn’t enough for the Black & Whites, who put in a strong display in the second-half despite the final scoreline.

Lee Radford named a handful of senior stars to feature in Danny Houghton’s testimonial match, including Josh Griffin, Danny Washbrook and Marc Sneyd.

The Robins took an early lead through James Greenwood, before Ryan Shaw touched down with an impressive diving finish in the corner.

But the Black & Whites hit back just before the break as Josh Griffin collected a pin-point Jordan Abdull kick to score.

Jake Connor also got his name on the score-sheet before the break, with some sublime footwork seeing him beat Adam Quinlan on his way to the line.

Hull found their feet in the game early in the second-half, with a other fine finish from Connor from a high Marc Sneyd bomb.

Jake Butler-Fleming broke away to score for Hull KR not long after, but tries in quick succession from Jack Sanderson and Jordan Abdull put Hull well in control.

But the Tim Sheen’s resilient side hit back again with quick scores, as Will Oakes and Matty Marsh both crossed to put Hull KR back ahead.

The win was sealed for the Robins two minutes from time as Kieran Moss scooted over in the score.
